What is the process for getting Clear Aligners?

Curious about how the Clear Aligners process works? Here’s what you need to know.

  1. Your first appointment

You need to know whether Clear Aligners are right for you. That’s why you’ll first have an appointment with an orthodontist who will assess your suitability for treatment and discuss what the treatment process involves.

  1. Your dentist will create a treatment plan

When you’ve had your questions answered and are happy to go ahead with treatment, we will take impressions, photographs and X-rays of your teeth and outline a treatment plan that includes what you want your beautiful new smile to look like.

We’ll send this to the Clear Aligners technicians and they’ll create a 3D rendering and computer model then, when we are completely satisfied, we ask them to make your trays.

  1. Get your Clear Aligners and start wearing them

When your aligners arrive from the lab, you’ll need to pop in to collect them. Your dentist will check that they fit correctly and may place small, temporary buttons on your teeth to ensure your aligners stay in place, if necessary. They will also explain how to use the aligners and what happens next.

  1. Attend your follow-up appointments

We want to ensure that you get the smile you deserve. That’s why we ask you to return for a follow-up appointment a few weeks after your first tray is fitted. Because Clear Aligners use a series of trays, you won’t need to return periodically for adjustments. Simply wear your discreet clear braces and watch your smile become straighter.

  1. Smile with confidence

If you have followed the guidance shared by your dentist, you’ll enjoy a healthy, straight smile within just a few months.

1. How are Clear Aligners better than braces?
Clear Aligners are practically invisible which means you don’t need to be embarrassed about wearing them. The retainers can be removed in seconds meaning there’s no need to worry about eating or getting food caught in the tracks.
2. How much do Clear Aligners cost?
The cost of your clear aligners depends on what procedures you need before treatment and how much straightening your teeth need. Book an appointment to start your journey.
3. I’m currently wearing regular braces. Can I switch?
Yes, you may be able to use a combination of regular braces and clear aligners to fix your smile. Speak to your dentist if you’d like to know more.
4. What if I have severely crooked teeth? Can I still get Clear Aligners?
If you have severely misaligned teeth, you might be better off choosing regular metal braces. This is because the metal places more force on the teeth. Please make an appointment with one our trained dentists to discuss your options.
